In the chart below you can detect horizontal striping patterns, representing the same cloud coverage percentage over many cities across various latitudinal ranges. This means that the particular cloud level is not distinct to a particular latitudinal range, but spreads across many different ranges. For instance, the distinct line at approximately 75% cloudiness level represents many cities sharing that same %. Another observation you can make is at the equator itself, 0 degree latitude, there isn’t a strong trend on cloud levels. In some sense, this data points to there being a lack of correlation between latitude and cloudiness. However, a major factor that this study skips over is the time of day the data is recorded. Is the data representative of average for the entire day? There could be a large discrepancy between early morning, noon and evening, and in averaging this out you lose granularity.
